Frequently Asked Questions

1- Who owns Arché? Who Are You?

Arché Project is not being funded by any institution, group or company. We have been able to organize our summer camps simply due to the interest of our students. This is also the source of our independence. Arché Project is being run by a team of 21 students from various universities and disciplines. Without exception, we have all met with each other in summer schools in Şirince. The reason why we got together is that we all believed in the philosophy of education that Arché strived to achieve. This how Arché Project, who started with just a handful of students grew to its size today.

2- What can I expect from a class in your Summer School?

Although it differs from programme to programme, many summer schools have classes 6 days a week and a free day for activities. Our lessons are usually divided into two parts; morning classes and afternoon classes. During their lectures, teachers can give an outline of the field, explain their own perspectives and discuss niche approaches to their topics. The curriculum is planned among the Arche team and the teachers. In almost all lessons, the students are encouraged to ask and answer questions. We usually have 6 hours of lessons and group discussions per day.

3- Well, the curriculum looks packed. Wouldn't I get bored?

As we tried to explain in each section of the website, what we do is different from the traditional education system. We think that hundreds of students who come to us to learn for 6 years is the best sign of our success. As the aim of the class is not to give you grades and as the teachers are easily approachable in our summer camps, we know that we can give you a drastically different education experience.
