Our recommended reading list:

  • Ha-Joon Chang – Economics: The Users Guide

For students without prior background, this book can constitute a proper introduction to the basic terms, concepts and definitions of the economics discipline.

  • Jörn-Steffen Pischke, Joshua Angrist - Mastering Metrics: The Path from Cause to Effect

This book lays the ground for analytical background of econometric research. Again, this book is designed for non-economists.

  • Esther Duflo – Good Economics for Hard Times

This book gives a good example on the latest research in the economics field, could be considered a great additional read.

  • Hal Varian – Intermediate Microeconomics
  • Grigory Mankiw – Macroeconomics
  • A. C. Chiang – Mathematical Economics

These are economics textbooks used in undergraduate and graduate degrees of the discipline. Students should not try to read from cover to end, instead use these as reference books.

Project Arkhe will offer further guidance and preparation material to the selected National Team.
